Frances Cornford needed in November

Thick snow here, as most of the east coast of the UK. What’s needed is a bit of Frances Cornford:

The winds are out in the abysm of night;

The blown trees stoop.

But man invented fire and candlelight,

And man invented soup.

[From Travelling Home, 1948]
